Hallway Makeover Moodboard

Hallways can often be overlooked in homes but you walk through it multiple times a day to get to where you're going, so your hallway should be beautiful too. Our hallway now in one word, yellow. All of the wood was treated with shellac decades ago and it yellowed a lot by the time we bought the house. I originally thought it would be nice to restain the wood but after testing a piece I knew painting was going to be the way to go. And I love wallpaper and this was a good place to play with a floral wallpaper that I can install myself.

let’s take this hallway from drab to fab!

First of all, how pretty is this wallpaper?! I am obsessed to say the least. I personally prefer peel & stick wallpaper for DIY, stay tuned on how this install goes. I wanted to pull in the flower color on the trim, I will keep the ceiling the same color as well and paint the doors. We are also giving the hallow core doors with a facelight with a diy, I will update this blog with a link to that blog when done.
I had to go with brass on the accents, it's my favorite! I will be getting some new brass door hardware because all that we currently have is mis-matched. But we will be keeping all the original aged-brass hinges.
  • peel & stick Wallpaper

  • Trim color: Behr color match BM revere pewter

  • Door Hardware: Emtek unlaquered brass oval knobs

  • Custom home sketch We have two of these (which i absolutely love!) that were a gift from my in-laws. They didn’t get them from this exact place but these are close!

  • doors: We are upgrading our hallow core doors with this great diy! Stay tuned for a blog on this.

  • light: I am restoring this light. Can you see the potential underneath the paint?!
